Meet the Pigmies Babongo, Punu, Mukugi, Missoko rites

Gabon´s population hosts more than 40 ethnic groups. They are a mix of original pygmy tribes Babongo, Baka, Bakoya and Bantu people as well as the Fang, Punu, Miene, Teke or Kota tribes, each with its particular traditions and rites.
Gabon has been named, the Tibet of Africa, due to its old and deep ancestral spiritual tradition. The broadly extended Bwiti Misoko and Dissoumba, or the Ndjembe, Mukukue and Mukudji traditions are few examples of its cultural richness which in many cases is related to the consumption of the Sacred Wood iboga.
