Preserving the traditions
The Fang rites (Dissumba) and Akèlè Simba rites (Misoko-Ngondé) will only survive if they keep being practised, transmitted and supported. Your gift funds the ceremonies, the instruments and the travel of the elders.
Support
Ebando is a non-profit association, founded in 1999. With no major public funding and no investor, its model rests on the contribution of the initiates who come to Gabon, and on the occasional gifts of those who cannot make the journey but recognise the value of the work accomplished over more than forty years.
Here is how to support the association, if the gesture speaks to you.
What your support funds
The Fang rites (Dissumba) and Akèlè Simba rites (Misoko-Ngondé) will only survive if they keep being practised, transmitted and supported. Your gift funds the ceremonies, the instruments and the travel of the elders.
Tatayo, Pemba, Bokaye, Maviango, Mambweté and the other members of Ebando largely live from the association. To support Ebando is to support this team day to day.
An artisanal forge (2001), a pirogue, scholarships for Oumba children, an information caravan. The money comes in, the money goes back out — towards the community.
Lodging, meals, transport to the airport, medical support: everything that makes the arrival of an initiate from abroad possible rests on the patient organisation of Ebando.
Other ways to support
Option A
The best way to support Ebando is to come and live an initiation, within the bounds of the framework. Your contribution funds the association directly.
Discover the journeyOption B
Talk about the association around you, share the pages that resonate, recommend it to someone who is searching. Word of mouth remains the first way people arrive.
Read Iboga & BwitiOption C
“Paroles d'un enfant du Bwiti” — the autobiographical account of Ebando's co-founder. Buying it benefits Tatayo and helps make Ebando known.

Next step
How to make a donation
Three steps, one human exchange.
No “Donate now” button. No imposed tier. A donation to Ebando goes through an exchange: you write, the team replies, you transfer.
Step 1
The choice
You decide what speaks to you. A general gift to the association, or earmark it for a specific project: the Forge, the pirogue, a child's schooling, support for an elder, ritual equipment.
No suggested amount. No tiers. No “minimum donation”. You listen to what feels right for you.
Step 2
The request
Write to Ebando to receive the bank details and state your intention. The team replies to you personally with the account details and confirms once your gift has arrived.
No pop-up, no Stripe, no “Donate now” button. A human exchange over WhatsApp or email — like everything else at Ebando.
Step 3
The transfer
A bank transfer from your bank to Ebando's account, for the amount you have chosen. A confirmation of receipt is sent by the team on request.
For gifts from France or the eurozone: a standard SEPA transfer. For other countries: SWIFT. Any fees are at your own expense.
No donation is processed by this site. No amount is suggested. You decide everything.
