Visa & logistics.
The practical steps to land in Gabon and reach Ebando. Nothing complicated, but each stage takes time and care.
Before you book
These steps are not complicated, but they take time and care. Here is the essential, stage by stage: the visa, the entry fees, health, the flight and the arrival. All the information comes from the Ebando 2026 document; please confirm it directly with the association before making any commitment.
I · The steps, in order
From the visa to clearing customs.
- Step 1.
The electronic visa (e-visa)
Several weeks aheadEntry to Gabon is through an electronic visa (e-visa), to be requested online on the Gabonese Republic's official portal, evisa.dgdi.ga. The procedure is simple but takes a little time: allow several weeks. Once your registration for a session is confirmed, Ebando sends you all the details to request your visa easily.
- Step 2.
M'bolo Tours, the partner agency
RecommendedEbando recommends going through its partner agency, M'bolo Tours, which handles the procedure for visitors: agency fees of around €220, paid on arrival. The official e-visa itself is requested beforehand on the Gabonese Republic's portal (evisa.dgdi.ga). The exact breakdown of fees is confirmed by the team when you register.
- Step 3.
The yellow fever certificate
At least 10 days aheadYellow fever vaccination is mandatory to enter Gabon. Without a valid certificate, entry may be refused, or a quarantine imposed. The vaccination must be done at least 10 days before departure to be valid. Also check the health requirements of any transit countries along your route.
- Step 4.
Malaria prevention
Before departureEbando recommends Artemisia annua (sweet wormwood), a natural prevention. Conventional medicinal alternative: Malarone. Lariam (mefloquine) is not suitable; ask your travel doctor for advice. Pemba prepares a natural remedy during your stay at Ebando.
- Step 5.
The fees on arrival
At customs clearanceOn arrival, the visa via M'bolo Tours is paid in cash, around €220 — the exact amount is confirmed by the team. Without a valid yellow fever certificate, entry may be refused. All payments must be made in Euros, in cash. Bring notes of €10, €20 or €50 — larger bills are sometimes refused.

II · The journey
The flight and arrival in Libreville.
You land in Libreville, at Léon-Mba international airport. Several airlines serve the Gabonese capital from Europe: Air France (direct Paris-Libreville flight), Royal Air Maroc (via Casablanca), Brussels Airlines (via Brussels). Fares and availability vary; we do not recommend any commissioned partner.
Ebando is 15 minutes from the airport by car. Pick-up at the airport by the team is included in the contribution. Share your flight details with Ebando as soon as it is booked, so your welcome can be organised.
III · Money on site
How to pay, once you are there.
- Balance of the initiation: in cash (Euros) on arrival.
- Pocket money: notes of €10, €20 or €50.
- ATMs: Tata can point you to the nearby ATMs when you arrive if you prefer not to carry large amounts.
