Project · Bwiti boat
Months of planning, building and sweat. A Bwiti boat shaped by hand, plank by plank, by the ocean. Today, it is ready to take to the water.
The hands behind the project

A boat born of patience
For months, Mbilou and the Ebando team planned, assembled and adjusted. On the sand, by the ocean, the hull took shape plank by plank. The wood worked by hand, the joints caulked, the hull sealed black: every gesture learned and repeated on site, by the hands of the place.
It is not only a boat. It is a tool for life for the Ebando community: trips out to sea, fresh fish, a self-reliance rooted in the everyday life of the site. A long labour, carried out with the care and the pride of those who build what they will live from.
In Mbilou's words
After months of planning and building and plenty of sweat, our Bwiti boat is finally ready. Just a few final touches and we'll be heading out onto the water, fish incoming. This project has been a true labour of love, and we're incredibly proud to see it come to life.
